My therapy approach is grounded in my clinical training across a range of psychotherapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic, Schema, and Third-Wave Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies. This breadth of training allows me to tailor therapeutic strategies to fit your unique needs. I can adapt to your circumstances, offer alternative strategies if your previous therapy experiences haven’t been effective, or if something initially doesn’t fit quite right for you.
At the heart of my work is building a strong therapeutic relationship. Research, both empirical and anecdotal, shows that the success of psychotherapy often depends on the quality of this relationship. This probably comes as no surprise, as many of us know from personal experience how difficult it is to benefit from relationships where trust is lacking. That’s why, in our therapy, we’ll make space to reflect on what you’re feeling during our sessions, how you’re experiencing the therapeutic process, and what’s working or not.
Flexibility is another key component of my approach to therapy. Whether you need someone to truly listen or take a more active role, whether you’re looking for short-term support or engaging in long-term therapy, or whether you’re focusing on a single issue or tackling multiple challenges, I’ll make sure to understand and work to meet your needs.
I work with adolescents and adults aged 16 and older in individual therapy.
I have experience addressing a wide variety of concerns, including mood, anxiety, trauma, acute stressors, relationship issues, identity and self-esteem. Before moving into private practice, I worked in diverse settings, including the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Queensland’s Children’s Hospital and the Oncology and Palliative Care Unit at The Prince Charles Hospital. These experiences have given me valuable insights and enriched the depth and breadth of my therapeutic care.
